Homeopathic Dosage Information

Homeopathic dosage is extremely important in achieving maximum results with natural remedies. It can make the difference in whether you find that something "works" for you or not.
Explaining Dosages:
Homeopathic remedies are usually sold in two types of potencies- 6c and 30c. In most chronic conditions, 6c is usually the most appropriate potency. In the case of emergencies or more acute conditions, 30c may be more appropriate.
For Powder/Infusion:
One "dose" for both adults and children can range from 1/4 teaspoon up to 1 Tablespoon and more. At times powder can be mixed with water causing it to be "infused".
For pilules or granules:
One "dose" = one or two pilules or enough granules to cover a small fingernail area. Simply dissolve one or two pilules on the tongue. Pilules are most often bought in the form of lactose (milk sugar) which has been impregnated with a solution of the named remedy. The granules are great for babies and small children as they dissolve more quickly and are more difficult to spit out.
For Solution Form:
Remedies sold in solution form in small glass vials have screw tops. This is a great alternative to those allergic to lactose (used in pilules). Put one or two drops directly on the tongue. Be sure to disinfect the dropper between uses.
Ointments:
These are for topical application only. Some are available as mother tinctures, for mixing with water to make lotions for bathing, gargling, etc. As a general rule, 10 drops of mother tincture to 0.25 liter (1/2 pint) of boiled cooled water are sufficient.
Once the symptoms of any condition disappear there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to continue with the remedy.
